Two In One

No!  It's not twins!  I missed last week's post and had the intention to post over the weekend and on Monday. Considering that those efforts failed, I decided to combine two weeks into one post.

Week 17 went well for the most part. Dan and I went out to dinner and to a concert on July 12. We went to the Oregon Bach Festival and attended The 5 Browns...who put on an amazing concert! The five siblings are extremely talented with a true, contagious passion for the piano. We also learned that Tadpole likes piano music! All concert Bebe Claric was a'movin and a'grovin, kicking, and squirming away. That made the evening extra special. Dan went diving and camping that weekend so I had the whole house to myself. Adele came over for a little bit on Saturday. During her short visit, in the middle of the day, someone decided that they needed my gym bag full of dirty clothes and stinky shoes more that I did. I filed my first ever police report, called the insurance company, and secured my back window all on my own. I am pretty darn proud of my McGuiver ablities in securing that window! I took it in and got in fixed on Monday! Yay! Tuesday and Wednesday were not really eventful which was a nice relief.

Week17

Baby Size: a turnip or an onion!  Weighs 5 ounces and is 5 inches from head to bottom!
Baby Development: According to BabyCenter.com:
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
Also, fingerprints have formed!
How I feel about being pregnant: So excited!
Symptoms:  Still getting sick but not as much.  Super itchy belly.  Odd dreams.  Off balance and light headed.  Wiggly joints.
Cravings:  Nothing really.
What I am most excited about: Feeling the baby move!  One of the best things ever!
Something sweet your daddy did for me:  He took me on a lovely date out to dinner and to a concert.
Funny moment: I got excited about stretch marks!  Now that I am consistently feeling better, I don't really feel pregnant, just rounder and/or fat.  Dan reminded me that, yes, I am definitely still pregnant and look like it, the growing bump gives it away.  I reminded him that logically, I know that I am still preggo but I don't necessarily feel like it.  The next day, a stretch mark map appeared on my growing belly and I got excited!  Those darn marks were reaffirming!
Special moment:  Feeling like Superwoman...I took care of my broken car window all by myself!  Silly, I know but it made me feel good!

Week 18, oh my, how is Week 18 done already? Thankfully, Week 18 was pretty calm. There was a big work event on Friday that tuckered me out so I treated myself to a well deserved pampering pedicure. Adele and I were two of the leaders for the event. We started set up at 8:30 and finished clean up at 2:45. Boy were my feet tired! The event was our 8th Annual Summer Celebration and it was a huge success. Dan and I enjoyed a few calm nights at home during the weekdays, sleeping in on the weekend, going to a Saturday evening BBQ at my friend's home, going to a baby shower on Sunday with Adele for Jen, and having some good friends over to celebrate a birthday on Sunday evening. Oh, and lots of dog cuddles! I just love those girls. On Tuesday, I bought a convertible crib and I can't wait for it to arrive! I found a great deal on a crib/mattress combo and did it. Thankfully, Dan also likes the crib because I bought it before checking with him. He is such a good sport! Monday and Tuesday came and went and somehow, I am officially into a new week. I have a doctor appointment on Thursday and the ultrasound on Aug. 6th. Can't wait to find out what the tadpole is!

Week 18

Baby Size: a bell pepper or a sweet potato!  The baby measures 5 1/2 inches and weights 7 ounces.
Baby Development: According to BabyCenter.com:
He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
How I feel about being pregnant:  Excited to see this little one on Aug. 6!
Symptoms:  Same as last week with nesting and itching EVERYWHERE!
Cravings:  Nothing.  My morning sickness came back one night during the week and it through me into not wanting to eat for a few days.
What I am most excited about: I can't wait to see the tadpole on Aug. 6 and for the crib to arrive!
Something sweet your daddy did for me:  He takes care of dinners!
Funny moment: The moment I realized I was nesting by  oooing and ahhhhing over cribs online!
Special moment:  Buying one of the major nursery items!  The convertible crib comes with a mattress and it was a stellar deal!  Also, holding my friends 15 day old son and going to a baby shower for another good friend!  Plus, getting to see Jen glow with excitement for her baby boy to come.  She has only a few weeks left in her pregnancy!

Wk 16

Week 16

Baby Size: an avocado!  The baby measures 4 1/2 inches and weights 3 1/2 ounces.
Baby Development: According to BabyCenter.com:
His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
How I feel about being pregnant: This past week has been great!  I am just excited about what is to come.
Symptoms:  Nothing new this week.  See last week!
Cravings:  Fruit!  I am really wanting berries and lemon these days, even over chocolate!
What I am most excited about: I think I might have felt the baby move today!
Something sweet your daddy did for me:  He let me sleep in and took the dog to the vet for her check up.
Funny moment: I can't think of one.
Special moment:  I am pretty sure I felt the tadpole move today!  That would be the best!
